Lynda Gill from Pickering was recently crowned winner of our competition with the Women’s Institute. Lynda enjoyed a styling session, makeover and lunch, and also the chance to take home £250 worth of Damart garments for herself and a friend. Gill brought along her mum, Betty Gill, from Wyke.
Our winners’ day started out with a mini makeover, tailored by hair and makeup artist Lauren to both of our lovely ladies’ tastes and needs. Neither Lynda nor Betty normally wear a lot of makeup, so Lauren made sure she created a natural look which highlighted their beautiful features. Their hair styles kept to the natural feel of the look, with Lynda getting soft wavy curls and Betty a soft blow dry to complement her naturally curly hair.
To make the day even more special, Lynda and Betty each got to choose £250 worth of Damart outfits, having Rose and Natalie – the range manager assistants from Damart – by their side for fashion tips and advice based on their lifestyles. Lynda enjoys spending time outdoors on walks or visiting nearby towns and villages. With this in mind, we chose a long, cosy, Ruby Jumper, paired with our Lineastyl leggings and topped up with a necklace for a complete look, which falls perfectly under this year’s trends for the Autumn/Winter season. Lynda, Rose and Natalie also put together a work outfit, which consisted of Damart’s Perfect Fit pencil skirt worn with a silk sweater and boucle jacket to keep the cold away and create a sophisticated look.
Betty has an active lifestyle which involves meeting friends and going out shopping. As a result, her first outfit consists of a Damart checked skirt, paired with a cable knit mohair cardigan to keep her warm on chilly days and a cream t-shirt. To reflect her bubbly personality, Lauren and Betty chose a bold printed Damart blouse, which can be dressed up with a pair of smart trousers, or dressed down with a pair of jeans for a more casual feel.
Our winners took advantage of the beautiful Victorian setting of the hotel and its scenic surroundings by having a photoshoot to commemorate the wonderful day. To top it off, Lynda and Betty were treated to lunch at the famous Betty’s Tearoom.
We think they look absolutely fantastic in their new Damart outfits! Which is your favourite look?
