Last night’s annual National Television Awards saw the stars of the small screen don their best frock and shine in front of millions of people across the UK.
With a formal dress code, long sweeping dresses are the usual order of the evening…which style, colour and type of accessories they go for is completely up to them. Here’s our pick of the best…
We loved Lorraine Kelly’s tartan dress. The pattern of the moment, tartan has been a recent firm favourite amongst many fashionistas, including Rhianna and Emma Watson. Lorraine pulls this look off with confidence and definitely outshines many of the younger celebrities!
Delicate nude and pale dresses were a popular and perhaps unusual choice for the red carpet this year. Many stars including Kerry Katona, Elle MacPherson and Carol Vorderman all opted for this ladylike look, accessorising with a golden tan and classic diamond ear rings and necklaces, adding that extra bit of sparkle to their outfit.
Black was, as always, a popular choice for the night. This year the popular Little Black Dress choice was actually very simple and understated, with many accentuating the simplicity of their dress with a slick of bright red lipstick and little jewellery, letting the dress speak for itself. Holly Willoughby wowed the crowds in a slim fitting long black dress, accentuating her gorgeous curves, while Tess Daley chose futuristic gold jewellery to stand out from the crowd.
